How do I add my Volt Debit Mastercard card to Google Pay?

To successfully add your card to Google Pay, you will need to ensure that:

  • you have activated your Volt Debit Mastercard
  • you have a compatible Android device. To find out if your device is compatible visit support.google.com/pay

To add your card, open your Google Pay app and click on  and follow up prompts.

Please ensure the name you enter in the Google Pay app is an exact match to the name displayed on your Volt Debit Mastercard.

Are there any fees or charges for adding my card to Google Pay?

We will not charge you any additional fees for adding your card to Google Pay. You are responsible however for any third-party charges associated with the use of Google Pay (such as carrier or mobile data charges).

How secure is Google Pay?

Your full card details are never stored on your phone or shared with merchants when you use Google Pay. Merchants are only provided with your Virtual Account Number, not your physical card number.

How do I make my Volt Debit Mastercard the default card for Google Pay transactions?

Select your Volt card in the Google Pay app and tap “Make default”.

Where can I use Google Pay?

Once you add your Volt Debit Mastercard to Google Pay you can use it in Australia or overseas wherever Mastercard contactless payments are accepted.

Look for the following signs while paying.

    


While travelling overseas, we recommend you take your Volt Debit Mastercard as a backup.

Are there any limits on Google Pay transactions?

The limits on your Google Pay are the same as the limits on your Volt Debit Mastercard. Please refer to the Volt Spend Terms and Conditions for more details.

Do I need to use my card PIN with Google Pay?

If you make a transaction over $200*, you may be prompted to enter your Volt Debit Mastercard PIN at the contactless terminal.

Can I use Google Pay as a backup when I lose my Volt Debit Mastercard?

Yes, if you lose your card, you can get it replaced but you can also continue using your Google Pay app for payments as usual without having to change your card.

My device has been stolen, what should I do?

If you lose your device please contact our Customer Care team. We will suspend your card in Google Pay.

I’ve received a reissued or replacement card; do I need to update my card information in Google Pay?

No, you do not need to update your details in Google Pay when your current card has been replaced or expired and a new card has been reissued.

How do I process a refund for a purchase made using my Volt Debit Mastercard on Google Pay?

Select your Volt Debit Mastercard on your Google Pay app and tap it at the contactless terminal. If asked to use a PIN, please use the PIN for your Volt Debit Mastercard.
